Emma and I spent our mid-morning outside while Autumn napped. I was using the computer part of the time, blogging and listening to an interview.
Later, we took a little walk. Emma picked up a couple of balls the older kids had left in the yard to bring back to the toy box. While we were out there, I saw a baseball tee and decided to bring it around for her to use. I was able to show her how to put the ball on the tee then hit it with the bat. She spent quite a bit of time hitting the ball, putting it back on the tee, then hitting it again. A new skill learned and lots of fun time outside. She gathered some of the rocks my mom keeps in her flower garden, putting them in an empty Huggies box. Emma also examined the remains of fish/shrimp that were left in the ice chest……from the shrimp Karl brought back from the shrimping trip he went on with his uncle……with her eyes only! I pushed her around on the toy tractor……her legs are still too short to reach the pedals.
Then, she enjoyed a snack at the little picnic table my parents have set up outside. The weather was really great, and I really enjoyed my one-on-one time with her.
