Okay, so I am still learning how to insert photos, etc. Everything is out of order here. The first photo is actually of the finished product. The buns did not rise much….usually what happens when I use only wheat flour. We may have to do part whole wheat, part white next time and see if that makes a difference. Then you have a shot of the dough rolled out. Below it is the butter, milk, salt mixture on the stove. To the right of that are the buns cut out and ready to be popped into the oven. I used my Pampered Chef Sandwich Cutter for that….might need to use a wide-mouth jar next time as Laura from Heavenly Homemakers suggests….mine seem a little small. You will also see two shots of the ingredients in the mixer. One is just flour and water….the other is after all the other ingredients were added. The last photo is the yeast, water, honey mixture.
After cutting the buns out, they had to sit for another half hour. Maybe I should have let them sit yet another 30 minutes when I saw they didn’t rise much? They definitely smelled like hamburger buns as they cooked. We will try them tonight and see how it goes. There are a few tweaks to be made, but this recipe certainly has potential.
