Tropical Storm Lee and our trip

We left Florida late Thursday afternoon, hit a couple of heavy rain storms, but made it with mostly easy driving by 11:30 p.m. The kids were fine, a few fits from the two littlest toward the end, which is quite common when we take long trips. We arrived, only to find out we had driven right into the path of a Tropical Depression, which later became Tropical Storm Lee. We have been cooped up due to heavy rain since our arrival….we did venture out to Karl’s brother’s home to watch Auburn football on Saturday, and then to church with my parents yesterday. We have actually missed most of the nastiest weather, although we’ve been under a few tornado watches/warnings. Overall it hasn’t been too bad….today is a bit more windy and stormy than past days but this is supposed to be the last of it…..then nice weather beginning tomorrow. Yay! Karl will be working for the next two days, but the rest of us plan to visit with some cousins, aunts and uncles, whoever is available. I’m not sure yet exactly when we’re leaving. It probably depends a little bit on the weather. We’ve been doing lots of reading and watching movies, drawing, watching LOTS of the weather channel….all those indoor activities. Looking forward to being able to get outside soon.

The storms are something else this year. Looks like you made the best of it. I’m glad that you missed most of it.
