Moving forward quickly

Yesterday we were able to come to an agreement with the sellers on some things with the house, so we are officially moving towards our closing date. 🙂 We also signed paperwork for our mortgage yesterday, so that is now moving forward. This afternoon, someone from the moving company came by to ‘assess’ our stuff. They’ll be getting back to us with an estimate, then we’ll have to decide if we want them to do it all, if we’ll pack some and they’ll pack some, or if we’ll just do the whole thing. Just not sure at this point which way we’ll go. Karl is out right now, pricing boxes, so he can compare the DIY price to the mover’s estimate when we get it back.

As usual with Karl’s company, things are really moving. We seem to wait and wait to find out what’s happening and once it’s decide it moves quickly. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by already since we found out it was a go! Now we’ve signed for a house and we’re trying to purge some more stuff. Speaking of, here are a few things we’re not taking, so if you local folks want anything or know someone who does, please contact us:

  • desk – not in the best shape but still usable
  • dining table and chairs – seats need re-covering and there are only 5 chairs, one of which the back is broken and glued back into place
  • small t.v. stand
  • king-sized mattress and box-springs – these are over 12 years old and have visible ‘sink holes’ on each side where we have been sleeping. They are not in the best shape. However, if you’re really in a pinch and need something, these may suffice until you can find something better.
  • miscellaneous homeschool books – I don’t have a list of which ones I’ll be selling, but contact me anyway. You can come by and take a peek. We have so much that we are not using and I would love to see these things go to a family that will use them!

I will add more things here as we think of them, likely in a new post.

Thanks for stopping by. We’ll keep updating here as new information becomes available.
