Okay, quick update!
We made the drive Wednesday and Thursday, and decided to come on out to the house Thursday night, even though it was dusk. We ended up spending the night, unloading all of our sleeping bags, air mattress, etc. We had our grill, some paper plates, plastic utensils, a couple of pans, a pot…..so we were able to live out of our suitcases fairly well. PODs arrived Tuesday, so we have been unloading (actually got the first one unloaded within a few hours so it’s already out of here!) and unpacking since then. Things are going well.
We have met 6 of our neighbors, all of which came to our home to welcome us to the neighborhood. I think 4 of the 6 came bearing goodies. Oh, yes, they WILL be my friends! LOL Hailey met a girl down the street and went out to ride bikes with her. The kids love the yard, the house, the playhouse, the cows behind us. We are slowly settling in. There’s still much work to be done, but it is beginning to feel much more like home.
We visited a church on Sunday, and all the kids want to go back. Karl and I enjoyed it, too. We even sat in on what they called Sneak Peek, which is just a 15 minute conversation with one of the church leaders to tell newcomers a bit about the church and what is available. Everyone we met was very nice and so positive about our large family! 😉
I will be back to post pictures, to write more about the house and area, and to tell the story about how we actually ended up here, so please keep checking back over the next few weeks.
See you soon!
