A true King

Our family has been getting a kick out of the movies in the line-up for ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas. We’ve watched a few, like Elf, A Christmas Carol, The Santa Clause (1, 2, &3!) and Fred Claus, which we actually really like. There are some that we just haven’t caught. Or didn’t want to. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you’d like to see what the station will be showing, check here.

When we checked this morning, to see what was going to be on this afternoon, I have to say I was quite surprised at one of the titles. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Seriously? This is on the Christmas movie line-up? My son and husband assured me that Christmas, the season, shows up in each movie, so I have nothing to worry about. Ha! They can buy that if they want. I don’t. ๐Ÿ™‚ At any rate, it got me thinking.

I am so thankful that we have not just a ‘half-blood prince’, but God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to celebrate each Christmas. God sent His son to die for our sins! We may have life because of His sacrificial death. All we need to do is accept His special, freely given, gift of salvation. Jesus is not a prince, but our King. The oneย true King!

As you watch all of your favorite movies this year (even Harry Potter!), remember the gift He gave you. Remember what was sacrificed for your life. Give back to your family, to your community, to Him. Hold your family close and celebrate together His many gifts and blessings to you this Christmas season, and throughout the past year.

He has blessed me so much! How has He blessed you?
