Over the last several months, as I have had time, I have been reading a series of books by author Lynn Austin. I began in the fall, during the same time that my husband and I were taking a bible study at our church that took us all the way through the old testament. I was blown away by God’s timing when I realized how closely this book series followed what we were learning in our study! Each week it seemed as if I would attend the study and the very next time I read the book at home, even if it had been a couple of weeks since picking it up, I would be covering the exact subject matter in the novel. I was constantly saying to my husband “Listen to this!” and “We just read about this at church tonight!”
There are 5 books in the series and they begin at the end of the reign of King Ahaz, going on to cover King Hezekiah’s reign and King Manasseh’s. I have only just begun book 5, but so far it is just as good as the others. I am listing the books below for easy access. I have really enjoyed reading them and for me, they helped me to remember what I was learning in our study even better since I was also reading an account at home. They are based on the bible stories, but are still fiction, so keep that in mind.
