Several months ago I was presented with an opportunity to review the book, Web Hosting for Dummies, by author Peter Pollock. I’ve been blogging for several years now, but still have much to learn, so I thought this would be the perfect chance for me to learn more about the backend of things. Much of what I hear people talk about in the blogging world has been like a foreign language to me, and I feel that this book will help me to understand some of the bloggy-speak, and ultimately, improve my blogs. I mean, if it’s for ‘dummies’, surely I can learn something, right? 😉
What is included in Web Hosting for Dummies?
- Getting Started with Web Hosting
- Getting to Know the Essential Services
- Managing Security and Access
- Knowing What to Do When Things Go Wrong
and all sorts of things about managing files, protecting your site, increasing speed, domains, DNS, mobile browsers, hosts, and more!
I know only a tiny bit about some of these things, and nothing about many more! I am excited to read and learn in detail about all of these areas. I am hoping to implement the knowledge from the book and, hopefully, show you pics along the way of my progress. So stay tuned, you don’t want to miss this!
