School districts, in my experience, always ask for more information than is required. Frankly, that gets me a little angry. So, my way to combat that (at least today) is to make sure that everyone I know is aware of what the law states. Make sure you always check the law.
Do not just go with what someone tells you, simply because they are from the district or they are a certified teacher. It is possible that that person knows exactly what she or he is talking about. It is also likely that she/he has no idea. Here is a link to the HSLDA page for Homeschooling Laws. Click on your state and be sure you know the law.
