‘Corny’ Cornbread

This recipe can be as simple or as complicated as you like. I enjoy making cornbread from scratch, so that is the recipe you will find below, my homemade version. However, if you like to buy the mix, go ahead, all you will need to do is follow the instructions on the box,  then add the corn to make my ‘corny’ cornbread. 🙂



1 c. flour

1 c. corn meal

1/4 c. oil

1 tbsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

1 c. milk

1/2 c. kernel corn (could also use creamed corn)

1 egg, beaten

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Sift dry ingredients together. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased muffin tins or loaf pan (I used an iron skillet). Bake in oven for 25 minutes. Serve while hot!
